| Friday, May 7, 2010 9:00am to Sunday, May 9, 2010 5:00pm Arrive early and stay late! For those that love details, here’s a bit more about us... Some years back (1995?), a group of Central Virginia Pagans started this festival as a way to honor one of the Neopagan major sabbats (holy days). Blue Ridge Beltane has evolved over the years, and with that evolution, many different flavors of Pagans have stepped forward to help the festival thrive. Since Beltane means so many different things to so many different people, Blue Ridge Beltane embraces as many Pagan beliefs as possible, and always welcomes new paths and ideologies. Over the years groups have hosted rituals exploring the paths of African, Celtic, Druidic, Hindu, Native American, Reclaiming and Wiccan. (*Please note that this is only a sampling of the many available philosophies to be experienced.) Each year people find enlightening workshops, a variety of rituals that explore different Pagan principles, Pagan oriented entertainment and events for every age group. What we can guarantee, is that Blue Ridge Beltane Festival is generally blessed by the precipitation gods (bring a poncho!) and that you will have the time of your life! All you need to do is Register! To increase the benefits of your participation you can also volunteer or contribute. Rumor has it that The Inner Sanctum will again celebrate the beauty, magick and mystery of sensuality within the confines of adult only space! Don't forget to bring a can of food for the Third Annual Blue Ridge Beltane Food Drive! |
We hope to become a registered non-profit religious education organization, dedicated to creating an annual Beltane Festival and, potentially, other Pagan oriented events each year.
We are completely volunteer driven, and anyone with planning experience, a strong back, a creative mind and/or a good heart are welcome to sign up in any capacity they can take. We work by collaboration in an atmosphere that is non-hierarchical.
We believe that Paganism, in all its various forms, is a valid spiritual path to finding the divine and seek to create a strong and thriving Pagan community.
“Providing a spiritual space for Pagan community members to rekindle their fires”

Campsite Decorating Competition
(oh what fun this will be!?!)
Hail to all of our friends old & new.
In the many years we have celebrated Beltane, folks have decorated their campsites with different altars to show their beliefs.
So this Year we are thinking to have some fun making a contest out of it.
This is how it will work.
When you come and Register let us know that you would like to sign up for the contest.
Go to the Kids area & see Sistermoon (kids Coordinator)
There we will give you a number that will be displayed at your campsite. Anyone can vote, there will be a voting box at the kids' area, and on Sunday we will announce the winner right before the Maypole event. Prize is Donated by the Mysterious Source Shop.
